Opening PDF File in Adobe Acrobat for Editing from a Web Page
With IT Hit Ajax File Browser and WebDAV Ajax Library you can open PDF files for editing in Adobe Acrobat from a web page.
To initiate PDF document editing using WebDAV Ajax Library you will call DocManager.DavProtocolEditDocument JavaScript function. It will mount a WebDAV folder and will open a document for editing. If the davX protocol is not installed it will execute a callback function, allowing you to program the UI to download the installer for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
To start PDF document editing in Ajax File Browser you will select Edit Document command on a toolbar or in a context menu.
To save the document back to server you will use the Save command, it will save the document directly to server without download/upload steps.
